IFSC Fair Food and Farming Work Group

The Economic Work Group has identified priorities centered around three recommendations contained in Cultivating Resilience.  These include recommendations around:

 

  • The percent of Iowa households with low and very low food security (hunger)
  • The incidence of nonfatal worker injuries/illnesses in animal slaughtering and processing in Iowa
  • Assess and develop and adopt an Iowa Agriculture and Farm Work Job Creation tax credit for small and nid-sized diversified farms that hire one of more new workers.
