The Iowa Food Systems Council Student Committee

The Iowa Food Systems Council Student Committee is a student-led network that empowers students to transform their universities’, institutions’ and communities’ food systems through networking, policy, and resource sharing.

Student Committee Goals

  1. Prepare the next generation of food systems advocates
  2. Nourish relationships among Iowa colleges and universities through food
  3. Improve networking opportunities for students
  4. Challenge students to engage in Iowa’s food system
  5. Share resources and experiences with other students in Iowa and beyond
  6. Create more opportunities for collaboration between students and food system stakeholders
  7. Increase student-led impact in food systems
  8. Engage students in food policy development and implementation
  9. Empower others to take action within Iowa’s food system
